pkinvest I don’t quite know the model. It’s a 3ccd camera, mini dv, 500x digital zoom, 10x optical? panasonic. one of the earliest if not their first 3ccd camera. its not the better one (with easier zoom control) because it has the little slider thingy to zoom. I need to capture the video! WMM can’t, imovie cant, i dont have quicktime pro. What program should i use?

November 1st, 2009 pkinvest My boyfriend is looking into buying a Professional camcorder to record bands playing live at gigs, and neither of us know very much about them. He has been looking at this one “CANON DM-XM1 XM1E 3CCD SEMI-PRO MINI DV CAMCORDER” on eBay but I’m wondering if anyone can suggest a good ’starter’ camera for him? Xxx

5 Comments » October 31st, 2009 pkinvest I would like to go for New camcorder from either panasonic or Sony. I want these features, 3CCD+External Mic+ Hard Diskette+High Definition can anyone guide me well. It is for my personal use. Will Hard Diskette give as good as Mini DV quality?

I will, hopefully, have a Mac Book Pro this Summer and have been told that Mini DV is the best, but also that Hard Disk is the best so I really don’t know… your suggestions as far as cameras or general advice will be highly appreciated!!
My only “must-haves” are
*3ccd’s
*under $1000
*recording format should be Mpeg 2 or Avi
(preferably Avi but I don’t think that’s possible, ha)
