How To Extract Camcorder Dvd Tape To An Actual Dvd Without The Actual Camcorder? Possible To Do Myself?

I have the actual DVD tapes from a camcorder. However, the camcorder was stolen a few months ago. Is it still possible to convert the tapes to a DVD using my computer, but without a camcorder? Any tricks? Neither do I have the money to afford a new camcorder nor a professional service to do it for me. Am I screwed? Please help! Thanks so much!

there’s definitely no tricks… you either need to go on craigslist and get a cheap mini-dv camcorder or find someone you can borrow one from

DVD tapes? Do you mean MiniDV tapes? If so you’ll need a MiniDV camcorder to capture your footage. It doesn’t have to be the same make or model though – any MiniDV camcorder will do. Are you sure you don’t know someone who’s got one – YouTube’s made video very popular and the advent of mini-DVD and hard drive based camcorders has dropped the price. They’re everywhere!
