I’m looking to buy one of the two JVC HD camcorders with built-in 60GB Hard Drives.
There’s the HD3 which records at 1440×1080i and then there’s the HD7US which records at 1920×1080i. That’s the main difference. There’s also the lens which is a Fujinon on the higher resolution and a Konica/Minolta lens on the lower one. I know the Fujinon is a better quality lens than Konica.
But my main question is, with a price difference of $400, will there be a significant difference between the two when I view it on my 42″ Plasma TV? Which is capable of viewing 1080i.
And what am I losing by buying the cheaper HD3 instead of HD7? Will I be able to tell the difference?
Info is much appreciated! Also, if there is a better 3CCD HDD or Mini-DV High-Def camcorder (without spending over $1300), let me know! I want to see all my options before buying. Thank you in advance!

Well you’ll lose some detail in the background with the1440 x 1080….>>>
But who watches tree trunks when your wife and kids are in the picture?
<
That camera should LAST YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS…..
<
You be stuck with it for a LONG LONG TIME….
<
Hopefully it’s NOT made in China….
Let’s see…..400 divided by 10 is 40…..400 divided by 20 years is 20 dollars per year….
Doesn’t sound like THAT much more to me….
