pkinvest This summer I’m going to be making videos for YouTube, but I need a camcorder. I’m pretty sure I need a hard drive camcorder, and I’m hopeing for it to be in the under $300 range. I don’t need anything fancy, I just need it to get the job done.
It needs to be able to work with the Windows MediaMaker thingy.
Also, if I get the camera, what else will I need? A memory card, USB cable?

October 25th, 2009 pkinvest Hi, I am looking to invest in a higher grade consumer camcorder (shoulder mount) and I found a store in my area that offers two cameras for around the same price.

The Panasonic AGDVC20P (Non-HD) – $1500http://www.vistek.ca/store/ProVideoCamco…
The Panasonic is Non-HD but it has a 3CCD sensor which the Sony doesn’t. My school’s new media course has the Panasonic model. I have used it before and loved it. I always wanted to make HD Videos however, as we have a large HDTV in our house and my mac is powerful enough to handle HD editing.
Just want to hear people’s opinions as to what I should get.

October 23rd, 2009 pkinvest Which brand is better for a HD camcorder, and should I get a camcorder with 3CCD or CMOS chips? Also, which format is best, a hard drive camcorder or Mini DV tape?
I will be using the camcorder for independent film.

1 Comment » October 12th, 2009 pkinvest OK. I am from the U.S., and I will be going on a tour to Dubai, Singapore, and Mauritius. I need a camcorder that is able to play back its recorded videos by connecting it directly to the TVs in these places, all of which use different TV color systems. So what type of camcorder is best for me? My first preference is a MiniDV type camcorder.
